The Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (Zacc) on Friday arrested Mutare Town Clerk Antony Mutara and former Mayor Tatenda Nhamarare for corruption related charges.
Mutara is alleged to have fraudulently employed his relative identified as Junior Ndlovhu in
the local authority by backdating the letter of appointment and forging the signature of the former Town Clerk who is deceased purporting that he had authorized the appointment whilst he was still employed by Council.
Nhamarara, on the other hand is alleged to have corruptly allocated himself a 1350 square metres stand at USD$2 per square metre instead of the stipulated amount of USD$18 thereby prejudicing the Council of USD$20 925.
