THE United States of America has on Tuesday disbursed USD5.5 million worth of food aid to be channeled to impoverished families.
Addressing journalists in the capital, the US ambassador to Zimbabwe Brian Nichols said the gesture was for drought mitigation.
The windfall comes at a time where the country has been affected by drought. The country is also still yet to recover from the devastating Cyclone Idai that hit Manicaland Province.
“We can still give aid to Zimbabwe despite the economic instability and we have increased aid.
“We will continue to intervene and support Zimbabwe on humanitarian needs,” said Nichols.
