The National Social Security Authority (NSSA) overturned the rotational appointment of the acting general manager after receiving advice that the timing “may not be right” given that the audit is still ongoing.
NSSA announced in a public notice on Tuesday of this week that one of its directors, Ms. Agnes Masiiwa, had been named the new interim general manager, succeeding Dr. Charles Shava. The notification was signed by the board chair, Dr. Percy Toriro.
Dr. Toriro had stated that the acting general manager position will be filled on a rotating basis until a permanent general manager was chosen.
But yesterday, the authorities issued a new public notice retracting the initial action.
