In quest to ease the processing of passports for Zimbabweans in the diaspora, the Home Affairs minister has ordered the ministry to increase passport fees to US$ 318.
This was revealed in communique written by Home Affairs minister Kazembe Kazembe on Monday.
He said the development came amid efforts to assist the Department of Civil Registry attends to the need for passports by Zimbabweans in the diaspora.
Government is currently struggling to clear a backlog of more than 350 000 passports.
Kazembe said his ministry was aware of the problems being faced by travellers, especially those abroad who have in their possession expired travelling documents.
